Mariann Balogh, Master Aesthetician

Mariann joined our team with over 2 decades of experience and an enthusiasm to help clients in all areas of their beauty and wellness. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Mariann offers the same services you have come to love from Utopia - with a European twist. In her early career, Mariann completed a degree in Registered Nursing and practiced in a hospital setting for several years prior to coming to Canada, where she started out in Nova Scotia before moving on to Alberta.

Mariann holds advanced certificates in Medical Dermatology, Esthetics and Cosmetology, and Laser treatments. She is also certified in waxing (including Brazilians), tinting, facials, pedicures, radiofrequency, and AstroDome facials. She has been a wonderful addition to the Utopia MediSpa team and glows with good energy wherever she goes. Her massage is fantastic and her calming energy will have you sailing off into blissful relaxation before the 2nd cleanse.

Registered Massage Therapist

Jake utilizes a treatment style that blends therapeutic massage with relaxation and movement-based techniques. His approach is personalized to each client, whether they’re looking to manage persistent tension and discomfort, improve mobility and flexibility, support an active lifestyle, or simply take some time to decompress.

With a background in personal training and additional education in assisted stretching, Thai-style stretching, IASTM and myofascial techniques, Jake enjoys looking beyond just where something hurts. He incorporates movement, mobility and hands-on assessment into his treatments to help identify areas of restriction and create a treatment that feels both effective and restorative.

Jake particularly enjoys working with neck and shoulder tension, low back and hip discomfort, mobility restrictions, and clients who are active or returning to exercise and sport. Treatments can range from focused therapeutic work to a more relaxing full-body approach depending on what each client needs that day.

Meley Drar, LPN Medical Aesthetics

Meley has a passion for health, beauty, skin care, fitness, and caring for her clients and colleagues.  She has worked between the medical and beauty field for….longer than you’d ever believe… ;).  She offers Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRP/PRF) injections (coming in 2024), IV therapy, MESOtherapy, VCarbon Peel Treatments, and SkinPen Microneedling (coming October 2023) at this time, with plans to add neuromodulator and filler injections to her treatment offerings by 2025.  Say goodbye to laxity, wrinkles, and fine lines!

Phyllis has been a part of the Utopia nursing team since our very first year in business, and we’re so fortunate to have her!

Originally from Ghana, then Windsor (Ontario), Phyllis made her way to Alberta and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) at the University of Alberta. She has been a Registered Nurse for six years.

In her hospital practice with Alberta Health Services, Phyllis works as a Surgical Float RN, providing care across a variety of specialties including General & Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, and Thoracics. Her diverse clinical experience has given her a strong foundation in patient care, clinical assessment, and surgical nursing.

At Utopia, Phyllis brings that same expertise and attention to detail to aesthetic nursing. She has a special interest in neuromodulators and dermal filler, while also providing the full range of nursing services offered at Utopia. Beyond her clinical expertise, Phyllis is known for her warm, compassionate approach and genuine commitment to making every client feel comfortable and cared for.

Meet Kenzo. With a passion for aesthetics, wellness, and helping people feel confident in their skin, she joins the Utopia team as a Master Aesthetician with a diverse background in advanced aesthetics and luxury spa services.

She is certified and experienced in laser treatments, microneedling, facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, tinting, chemical peels, dermaplaning, hydrofacial, acoustic wave therapy, and radiofrequency treatments. She also brings extensive product knowledge and experience working with respected professional skincare lines, including iS Clinical and Eminence Organics.

Throughout her career, Kenzo has had the opportunity to work in some of Alberta’s premier five-star spa environments, including the Royal Glenora Spa and the Fairmont Banff Springs, where she developed a strong appreciation for exceptional client care and elevated spa experiences.

Always looking to grow, Kenzo has continued her education by pursuing a Diploma in Business Administration and Spa Management with a focus on Human Resources and Marketing. She is excited to bring this additional knowledge to Utopia and contribute not only to the client experience, but also to the continued growth and development of the business.

After taking some well-deserved time away from the industry to focus on motherhood (IYKYK 😉), she is excited to be returning to the workplace and doing what she loves. She has a passion for skin care, fitness, and the epidemiology of chronic disease.  She has worked between the medical and spa field for 13 years, performing in an executive role for over a decade until she opened Utopia.  She is also passionate about her clinic days, offering both iS Clinical facials and VCarbon peels.  She is also happy to help clients with any light nutrition, stretching, or strength programs needed to relieve pain, improve mobility, or just to feel better.
